A poem: If I Were A Tree (Theme: Deforestation)

If I were a tree
home for birds and bees
I would ask for some peace
for the pain to cease
when you cut me down
and my cries you drown
with your ax and saw
why don’t you see this flaw
of what you do to yourself
with consequences you have dealt
by desertifying your land
where your defense used to stand
saved you from floods you face
gave you the rain you so crave
but you threw away it all
for few paisas you took the fall
and now only thing left to do
is for you to finally get the clue
that to take back whats been done
is to replant us one by one
your aberrations you may redeem
making earth once again clean and green
