Acid Rain - a poem

As man burns the fuel and coal
trees about hundred years old
are rotting away by the acid
when it should be more placid
As the soil and rain interacts
it lowers the soil's pH
and aluminum that's leached
into the rivers its unleashed
poisoning the wildlife and the land
our future shattered by our own hands
if continued energy use does not drop
the destruction will follow and will never be stopped
